What feedback web apps can be hosted inside a corporate network?

Which feedback web apps like UserVoice or Get Satisfaction can be hosted inside a network?

Due to corporate policy, we can't host certain types of information outside of our network, but we'd still like to allow employees to provide feedback and ideas for improving departments and products.

  • The simplest way to do this would be to install an open source forum/bulletin board program like PHPBB. Just install it within your LAN on XAMP(converts your box into a PHP, MySQL Webserver) or on a Linux server and away you go.

Michael La Voie : Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm looking for a little bit more organization around the suggestions like UserVoice (or even SO)

  • I found a stackoverflow.com question on open source clones of UserVoice which is probably going to be your best bet. The top voted answer is to use a Stack Overflow clone though :)

  • MSO has a list of StackOverflow clones that might be helpful if your internal discussion is mostly in a QA format.

  • http://www.kindlingapp.com/ is aimed at your use case, so would be worth checking out.

Kindling is designed to engage the members of your organization. Engagement translates into more ideas, increased collaboration and a better ROI for your innovation efforts.

Every aspect of Kindling is designed to fit into your organization’s ecosystem seamlessly. If you’re using Microsoft Sharepoint to support your collaboration efforts, Kindling’s SharePoint integration will enable the members of your organization to innovate with ease.
