ocs r2 message archiving

I have ocs r2 installed on the network, and have installed the monitoring server and all that. I have even forced through GP that it log all IM messages in outlook. However, I have had a request to pull some old messages off the server and I am at a loss as to how to go about doing that. documentation is a bit vague on the subject. any help would be appreciated.

• Central archiving isn't configured by default in an OCS installation. Your log all messages in outlook settings is doing exactly that, all conversations are added to a Conversation History folder in the users Outlooks, if you use Exchange that means they are likely being stored on the Exchange server.

  Getting at them that way can be tricky but not impossible.
