Link to a search in Google Wave

Is it possible to put a link in a wave that will show the user a list of waves that match some criteria? For example, all waves with the active tag.

• I found this discussion that suggests doing the search, copying the URL from your address bar, and then linking to that URL in the wave. That sounds OK, but I don't like the fact that it opens a new tab.
